Reflection & Play Store Entry
Hurray!! Welcome to our final blog, hope you enjoyed our blogs so far!! In this final blog we would like to describe our reflections about this project and you can find the simulated play store entry for our application.
Reflections:
Technical challenges:
- Frequently encoutered problem is BUild Synchronization. It consumed more time.
- While Integrationg GPS to our APP, Intially We planned to use Location Picker but it doesn't worked properly due to the limitations in apk. Again we redesigned code by using fragments and it works properly. This consumed a lot of Time.
- While creating database,It is not possible to store images directly into the table so, We converted image to integer Byte array and then we stored image into table as a BLOB.
It is not possible to store many charachters in the Description Attribute. This is one of the Limitation in our APP.
General challenges experienced as a team:
Difficult to get started:
- Taking time for all members to understand the allocated task by brainstorming.
- Developing an agenda and time-line.
Miss-understandings of requirements:
In our initial meeting with customer, we all had understood completely different from each member. But at the later stage we had overcome by noting each point which mentioned in regular meetings with customer.
Time management:
Everyone had their own schedules, so initially it was difficult to get convenient time to discuss our progress. However, we sort out this problem with help of Gantt chart.
Benefits:
This software application is one of the most helpful project that can assist a team in being as effective as possible. Even though we all are from various background, as a team, we experienced in different areas involving the application development. At the end of app we found following benefits as a team.
- This project has helped us to improve our time management skills.
- It was great opportunity to improve our blog writing skills in HTML and publishing them.
- We learned and got experience in GitHub.
- Eventually we developed our knowledge on Android studio and Java Object oriented programming.
- We improved our presentation skills by getting feedback from peers.
How the course did meet our needs:
This course gave us opportunity to learn Android app development along with SCRUM for project handling. This course is well organized in order to fulfill all the needs of a beginner in software development. This course given us a great confidence which is helpful to solve a real-world problem.
